Defense, energy, health and human services, veteran affairs, education and labor are not affected by the shutdown. 3. Essential workers still report to work and nonessential workers are furloughed. 4. Department of commerce and department of treasury. 5. NSF, EPA, NASA 6. Montana, Alaska, Maryland 7. THEY ARE NONESSENTIAL AND WON'T STREAM UNTIL THE GOV IS OPEN AGAIN. 8. The shutdown could shave approx 1.2 billion off the real GDP every week the government is shut down. 9. 3.6 billion, 7.1 billion
